Overview of buying from MonsterSmash

The website has the ambience of a dark and deep cave yet is simple to navigate, with a monsterpedia giving you all the specs of each model, and a little info about which kind of monster your adopting.

This is a helpful resource when choosing sizes and finding out the character theme for each model.

The colour options listed are fairly broad and I am glad they offer bright and UV colours, newly available in up to three colours for marble with MTO (made to order) purchases.

With the option of one or two colours upgraded to glow in the dark (for an up fee per colour).

You can also get a custom slot for more specific requests, or even just talk to them about what you would like. I asked for the colours to be made pastel for my custom sandworm and there was no issue, but some things require hand painting or other extra steps so it is wort discussing exactly what you would like so they can have the opportunity to explain what you should expect.

The ordering of ready made inventory items is simple and the layout is clear for listings information such as size and firmness, and whether or not an item is a FLOP. I made my first purchase with monster smash under those circumstances, the Shen is a Flop for malformation of the ribs, but if you don't inspect it closely you couldn't tell. The FLOPS are listed slightly cheaper than other stock to reflect the issue, which is a win when the flaw is something relatively insignificant.

Checkout options are a little limited, although they offer Afterpay to spread the costs (subject to terms of Afterpay) as well as link or Stripe for card payment. Currently do not offer Paypal or Klarna as an option.

Once your payment for any order is confirmed you will receive an email confirming this. The wait time for custom orders varies dependant on the current que  as I type this it is estimated at 6 weeks but one has been made already and the other is yet to be completed and it hasn't been even 3 weeks yet, peak times such as holiday seasons (I see as much as 10 weeks estimate) are a factor I consider when planning to place a custom order.

The time for dispatch on ready made orders has so far been within a week, which is pretty good. 

The packaging is simple plain and discreet, only you know the horrors inside!

Enclosed are packing materials like corn starch peanuts and tissue paper assembled with care, making it a joy to receive. 

Included is a certificate of monster husbandry which affirms your adoption of these creatures that go bump in the night! If your lucky a teeny stowaway will be nestled among the bonus stickers too!

The monster of your choosing will be lurking in the depths of the box, waiting to spring forth with cheer! Protected by its sealed bag, home at last colours so vibrant and pours dressing the character down to a work of art to be yours to love, Not just big and scary after all.

In my experience buying from Monster Smash is easy, MTO is straight forward and they have expanded the colour/pour options in the time since I first stumbled into their lair, such as the addition of 3 colour marble (instead of 2) which has prompted my first MTO purchases from them, which i am delighted to say turned out spectacularly.

The Kong has a really wonderful swirl and has such vivid UV, with the quality of the mould being perfect-it looks better than I had anticipated! 

With my Sandworm stealing the show- UV pastel yellow and pink with a strong UV drip, this was as requested but they more than delivered with every aspect being just like my coloured line drawing! They even done a lattice, almost icing type base art that is barely visible in the day but is so very clear to see in UV! 

I have never been dissatisfied with any of my orders, always listed clear and has been better than the pictures can show in person. The sculpts for the range are a high standard and have great detail, even Phantom, which has a semi-realistic stance, has been sprinkled with little drips, teeth like ridges on the crown, and subtle waves.

Recently Monster Smash have joined forces with StrangeBedFellas (USA store) to offer some of the SBF models to the UK at a much better price than buying and importing from America direct to the UK or EU.

This is great news for the future of both companies, as a customer the main reason I previously had not bought the SBF models is-that exact moment at checkout- when a whole dildo value gets added just for shipping and then the import tax!!

The models are going to be added in waves with priority on Small and Medium sizes first, so for myself its going to be a wait before I consider buying one but I don't mind watching the growth in the meantime which is happening for Monster Smash.

The customer service is excellent, I have had a couple of odd (mostly my fault) experiences with either my account, or an order I've placed with far too much adrenaline and chose the wrong pour style, all of which was resolved in a super chilled and way less dramatic tone than was present on my side of the screen! Thank you :) .

They are friendly and professional, happy to receive ideas before you commit to a purchase and have talked me through expectations for the outcome of less common customs in clear language.

I have enjoyed shopping with them and will continue to do so, with hopes of seeing new models of their own alongside SBF, as I have nearly got all the monsters that tickle my fancy now but would love to fill my new Monster Smash shelf in the future.
